Biography:

Neal Snyder has been educating and entertaining at Fairs and Festivals since 1994. Starting with his company Alligator Adventures. Neal enjoyed putting smiles on youngsters faces with his alligators but he wanted to create a new show, an audience participation show that would not require him to travel with live animals which require daily care 365 days per year.

In 2005 Neal conveyed his wish to create a new show to his brother a 20+ year firefighter, my brother was telling me about how much kids want to try being the firefighters at his departments open house/demonstrations and how playing on or with the departments gear can be unsafe for children as their equipment is industrial size. Even the fire trucks are large and very high off the ground for children to get in and look around them.

My eyes opened as an idea for a new show came to be and together Neal and his firefighter brother came up with the events used in the show.The idea was to use real fire fighting gear as much as possible and still make the show set child friendly and safe and let kids from our audience be the firefighters in our demonstrations. It took nearly one year to purchase firefighting equipment and to build the show set which includes professionally made costumes, flashing lights, smoke, a kids size fire truck, smoke rescue building, fire tower w/water canon and the fire hose fountain.

In the fall of 2006 I promoted the show for the first time at the IAFE trade show in Las Vegas, Ohio Fair Managers Association trade show and the Indiana Association of Fairs trade show and by early 2007 the show had been contracted to perform over 150 shows.

(all but one event in 07 re-hired the show for 2008)

Since our first show season in 2007 we have seen the number of events double. Our show route has taken us to the states of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Oklahoma, North/South Carolina, and Georgia. In our home state of Florida the show has been seen at the Volusia County Fair,Deland FL, Indian River County Firefighters Fair, Vero Beach FL, Putnam County Fair, Palatka FL, Baker County Fair, Macclenny FL, Hendry County Fair, Clewiston FL, Osceola County fair, Kissimmee FL, Lake County Fair, Eustis FL, St Johns County Fair, St Augustine FL, Central Florida Fair, Orlando FL, South Florida Fair, West Palm Beach FL, Jacksonville Fair, Jacksonville FL, Pasco County Fair, Dade City,FL, SW Florida /Lee County Fair, Ft Meyers, FL, Manatee County Fair, Palmetto, FL and Hillsborough County Fair along with a variety of Festivals and Fire/Public Safety events.

The show has received great reviews, parents appreciate the educational value and the kids have a lot of fun. " I look forward to many successful years performing the firefighter show."

The young audience members becoming the firefighters in each show combining, "a little education with a whole lot of fun", make the Firefighter Training Show a hit wherever the show performs.
